Time to tidy the messy drawer?
The one thing we know about coronavirus is that none of us knows enough. That we need to slow its spread, flatten the curve, prevent a run on the NHS and help front line staff get on with it, is understood. And now, for the lucky ones, working from home is our office.
Whether it’s a novelty, a pain or you just miss the camaraderie, this is the new normal for the next three weeks, which we all know will become months. So, as I write this, I’m in my workout gear, ready to join around 1.6m people online to do Joe Wicks’ PE workout (with the kids, of course), something I plan to do with my family three times a week. Well I can only sit down in front of this screen for so long without seizing up.
Without the routine interruptions of office life, there’s more time to think about the business in a less distracted way. In fact, we’ve decided to use this time to do some navel contemplation and review our own branding at Dart Design, from our core message and how we communicate across all channels to our website, and realised we could be sharper. No babies were thrown out with the bathwater, no noses cut or faces spited, just good, clean consensus on the way forward, resulting in a more succinct encapsulation of the service we provide. The about-to-be-tweaked-Dart will be coming to a screen near you very soon.
For those Gavin & Stacey lovers among you, we’ve ‘tidied the messy drawer’. More than a sense of accomplishment, we feel we’ve made progress. Now for Joe.
